What brings us together? Embroidery is not just a decorative technique, but also a social manifestation and a form of contemporary artistic expression, capable of conveying a strong conceptual and political message. 

Between threads and conversations, it opens up a meeting space where participants will have the chance to learn about and reflect on the various uses and interpretations of the embroidery practice. They will also learn to make some Portuguese embroidery stitches, allowing them to express their individual perspectives on 'the right to beautiful things,' in relation to and in dialogue with the artworks from the MACAM collection. Together, we will embroider pages of a book woven by the collective, to be shared later. Between threads and conversations includes practical embroidery sessions and talks with guests from fields as diverse as anthropology and fashion. 

No previous embroidery experience is required.
