Pedro Jóia is one of the most prestigious Portuguese guitarists and composers of recent decades. His recording debut came in 1996 with "Gaudiano," followed by "Sueste" (1999), "Variações Sobre Carlos Paredes" (2000), and "Jacarandá" (2003). In 2008, he received the Carlos Paredes Award for the album "À Espera de Armandinho." In 2020, he received the same award again, this time with the album "Zeca." "Mosaico" (2024) is his most recent album, a cornerstone of his current solo tour in Portugal and around the world.

Throughout his career, Pedro Jóia has performed numerous times as a soloist, in duets or trios, with various orchestras and chamber ensembles, and has collaborated with prominent names in international music, notably in Brazil. In Portugal, he accompanied renowned performers, exploring new approaches to traditional fado. He has been a member of the Resistência collective since 2010.
